ABOUT
Jake Bright (aka DJake) is a New York based producer and DJ specializing in music arrangement and production services to private events.

On the decks Jake is known for his ability to find the hottest tracks across multiple genres and mix them to meet venue, crowd, and moment. Versatile across many styles, he describes his DJ foundations as influenced by genres R&B, soul, funk, reggae, and Motown. In addition to producing music for many mainstream events, Jake is also notable for his skills mixing music of Africa and its diaspora. He’s been featured several times by award winning series Afropop Worldwide and co-founded Cocody Productions

Jake has proven range and success programming music - including live bands, dance, and DJs - for big ticket events. He’s headlined venues such as Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster, produced private charities for Alicia Keys’ Keep a Child Alive and Millennium Promise, and arranged music for Donna Karan's Urban Zen space, the Art for Africa Sotheby's series, The New York Junior League, and New York Stock Exchange. Jake often hosts and serves on committees for nonprofit events he provides music for. He also co-founded with Hip Hop Saves Lives the Hip Hop Soul Jam, AfroHop, and WAN-LUV event series.

Jake’s been a regular on New York’s junior patron circuit, doing repeat gigs for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Apollo Circle, MoMA Junior Associates, and Young Members of The Museum of The City of New York. He’s played fashion shows and private parties for stylist Mia Morgan, PR master Susan Shin, and ARISE Magazine Editor Helen Jennings. He’s also mixed and produced events at Harlem’s iconic Shrine, headlined for Blitz the Ambassador, and played in West Africa. As an event producer who’s active on New York’s charity circuit, Jake brings a strong degree of professionalism working with event organizers and sound crews, as well as good personal presentation with crowds. The majority of his gigs come through repeat bookings and referrals. In a time when DJing has become a celebutante fad du jour, many leading with gimmicks, Jake leads with a proven track record and real turntable skills.
